Karachi: Mohsen Gilani FC registered their first win at the 2021 National Women’s Football Championship against MUK FC on Wednesday.
On the other hand, Pakistan Army, JAFA Soccer Academy and Diya WFC extended their winning streaks on Day 6 of the competition.
Army outclassed the opposition Riaz Kamil by 9-0 at the KMC Stadium Hajra Khan and Rameen Fareed scored a hat-trick each for the defending champions while Eeshal Fayyaz, Swaiba Sarfraz and Rishail contributed with a goal apiece in the Group ‘C’ match.
On the other hand, JAFA Soccer Academy beat Young Rising Stars Layyah 4-0 at the KPT Stadium. For JAFA, Fatima scored a brace while Bismah and Kiran Fatima scored the remaining two goals. Army is placed on top of the Group table while JAFA is at second.
In Group ‘D’, Mohsen Gilani WFC comfortably beat MUK FC 5-0 to claim their first three points in the competition. They are third in the group below Highlanders FC.
Diya WFC strengthened their position on the top of Group ‘D’ with nine points after a 9-0 win against Abbotabad’s Nawanshehr United FA.
Diya’s veteran player Rukhsar Rashid scored a hat-trick while Zunaira Shah netted in two goals. The remaining goals were scored by Kiran Qureshi, Aliya Jhallka, Ubeer and Shumaila Hussain.
No matches are scheduled to be played on Thursday and Friday.
