One player of Pakistan’s white-ball squad for SA tour tests COVID-19 positive

Lahore: One player part of Pakistan’s white-ball squad for the tour of South Africa has tested positive for COVID-19, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed in a press-release.

35 players underwent the first round of the COVID-19 testing on March 16 in their respective cities. The reamaining 34 have returned negative.

The squad will now assemble in Lahore on Thursday, 18 March, for the training camp, which will commence at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday.

COVID-19 affected player will now undergo a repeat test on Thursday at his residence. If he tests negative, only then he will be eligible to travel to Lahore where he will remain in isolation for two more days before being retested.

It must be noted that Pakistan is scheduled to depart for South Africa on March 26. They will play three ODI and four T20Is against Proteas.
