Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has broken her silence after her brother was charged with murder, admitting she’s having a “tough time processing” the news.
Soldier Tevin Biles-Thomas was
at Fort Stewart in Georgia following an eight-month police investigation into a fatal shooting of three people at a rental residence in Cleveland, Ohio on New Year’s Eve.
He was indicted on six counts of murder, three counts of voluntary manslaughter, five counts of felonious assault and one count of perjury, and is currently in police custody.
Simone had been silent on social media following the arrest reports, but returned to Twitter on Monday to tell her followers she’s “still having a hard time processing last week’s news.”

“My heart aches for everyone involved, especially for the victims and their families. There is nothing that I can say that will heal anyone’s pain, but I do want to express my sincere condolences to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy,” she added in her statement. “I ask everyone to please respect my family’s privacy as we deal with our pain. XO.”
Biles-Thomas will be extradited to Ohio ahead of his arraignment on Sept. 13.
