INDvENG: Final three T20Is to be played behind closed doors

Ahmedabad: The remaining three India-England T20Is will be played behind closed doors after a spike in COVID-19 cases in the country’s Gujarat District.

The five-match T20I series is currently being played at world’s largest cricket stadium Ahmedabad. The series is so far level 1-1.

“The decision was arrived at following detailed discussions with the state and local health authorities,” said a BCCI statement.

“The BCCI will continue to comply with all the regulations put in place to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus and will always put the health and safety of its fans and stakeholders at the top.”

50% crowd was allowed for the first two matches and almost 55,000+ fans were at the stadium on March 12 and 14.
