Karachi: National Women’s Football Championship has been hit by COVID-19 after one player of Karachi United’s (KU) squad was tested positive for the virus.
The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) released a statement earlier today that the player tested for virus yesterday (March 14).
“KU has been advised to get their entire squad tested. KU have played Karachi WFC and HEC while Karachi WFC have played Sialkot WFC in the competition’s Group ‘B’ till date. Therefore, all teams in first and second contact have been advised to get their squads tested,” PFF said.

“There will no Group ‘B’ matches at least until test results are received. The PFF will decide further action depending on the test results,” he added.
Meanwhile, PFF has assured financial support for all the teams in getting their COVID-19 tests.
The tournament will continue to hold matches with the Group A match between WAPDA and Hazara Girls Football Academy on March 16.
