Rawalpindi’s cricket ground turns Shoaib Akhtar stadium

KARACHI: Rawalpindi’s KRL Stadium name changed to Shoaib Akhtar Stadium, former Test cricketer Rashid Latif said on Friday.

Taking to Twitter, Latif told his followers that first-class KRL Stadium will now be called Shoaib Akhtar Stadium. “KRL stadium name changed to Shoaib Akhtar cricket stadium,” he wrote.

It must be noted here that Akhtar represented Pakistan in 46 Tests, 163 ODIs, and 15 T20Is between 1997 to 2011. He was recognized as the world’s fastest bowler, having bowled a delivery at 161.3 km/h (100.23 mph) in an ODI against England.

Currently, he owns a YouTube channel where he analyzes Pakistan cricket and cricket-related matters. He also appears as a cricket expert at PTV Sports.
