The Knights have copped a massive injury blow early in the season with five-eighth Kurt Mann sustaining a serious knee injury against the Bulldogs.
Shortly before the half-time break in Newcastle's 32-16 win, Mann was involved in an awkward clash with Canterbury halfback Kyle Flanagan.
The 28-year-old attempted to play but was soon heading up the tunnel for treatment minutes later.
He was seen back on the sidelines in a knee brace early in the second half.
"They think it's my medial (ligament). I think best case scenario is five weeks, so could be much worse but I'll have a scan tomorrow and find out more then," he told Fox Sports.
"I thought it was just a knee clash and so I tried to run on it but it felt a bit unstable."
According to the NRL Physio, Mann could be sidelined for up to five weeks depending on the full severity of his injury.
