Gilgit wraps up their first win in National Women’s Football Championship

KARACHI: Gilgit WFC outclassed Hazara Quetta FA by 5-0 to win their first victory in the ongoing National Women’s Football Championship at KMC Stadium. 

After losing to WAPDA 14-0 in their opening match, Gilgit bounced back strongly to take charge in their Group A contest. Misbah Rasool dominated for Gilgit against the opponents as she struck two goals to put her team in the driving seat.

 

It was Zahra who opened the scoring for Gilgit followed by Samreen and Shahzadi’s goals. Misbah scored a goal in the 84th minute and another during four additional minutes to seal a convincing victory for Gilgit.

On the other hand, Karachi United (KU) won their Group B game against HEC by 2-0 at KPT Stadium. Zulfi netted both the goals for KU who won the second match in a row.

In another Group B contest, Sialkot City WFC and Karachi WFC held drew 2-2 and got a point each at the KMC Stadium.

Noor opened the scoring for Sialkot before Cinderella Salamat doubled the lead. However, Karachi WFC bounced back courtesy a brace by Hania with both goals being scored in a space of seven minutes.
