Pakistan officials have moved to shut down speculation regarding head coach Jason Gillespie, after reports the Australian was set to be sacked.
News first broke on Sunday night via ESPN Cricinfo that the 49-year-old was on the verge of being removed from his role of the national team.
Currently in charge of the Test side, Gillespie stepped into the white-ball coaching job recently after the departure of Gary Kirsten, but it was only on an interim basis.

Gillespie has since reportedly been offered a contract to coach all three formats of the game for Pakistan, but rejected the deal given it was the same money as what he was earning to lead the red-ball team.
After that decision, the rumblings were that Gillespie would be replaced by Aaqib Javed as the country leans towards returning to a one-coach model.
However, in a strange turn of events, the official PCB social media account reposted the ESPN link to deny the former Aussie quick would be ousted.
"PCB strongly refutes the story," the statement via X read.
"As announced previously, Jason Gillespie will continue to coach the Pakistan side for the two red-ball matches against South Africa."

Gillespie coached the side to a surprise 2-1 victory over Australia in the recent ODI series, before they fell short in two subsequent T20 fixtures. The third match in the T20 series will be played on Monday night in Hobart.
Pakistan's two-game test series against South Africa will begin on December 26.
