Aussie doubles duo Jordan Thompson and Matt Purcell are through to back-to-back grand slam deciders, and it could come with a life-changing pay day.

The pair defeated Americans Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow 6-4 7-6 (7-4) in the semi final of the US Open, earning a chance to redeem themselves after Wimbledon heartbreak.

However, they could land a maiden title together after the win at Louis Armstrong Stadium.

"Unbelievable … that (Wimbledon) was a heartbreak so they would love to get another opportunity here to win a grand slam. They've been quite a pair, haven't they?," Jelena Dokic said on Nine's coverage.

If the two are able to win the final, Thompson could earn a $1 million (AUD) pay day from his work at Flushing Meadows.
