Dwayne Johnson proud daughter joining WWE

Dwayne Johnson couldn’t be more proud of his daughter Simone after the 18-year-old signed her first World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) contract.

The Jumanji: The Next Level star appeared on Friday’s instalment of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he gushed over his offspring’s success.

“She signed her contract with the WWE, it just blows my mind,” he shared. “First of all, I mean, what an honour that my daughter wants to follow in my footsteps. But more importantly, follow in my footsteps sounds cliché, but she actually wants to blaze her own path, which is just so important.”

He added: “She wound up being the youngest signee in the history of the company, by the way.”

Simone, Dwayne’s child with ex-wife Dany Garcia, began training at the age of 16.

“She was working her ass off. Quietly, under the radar, in the ring, getting thrown around, and all the bumps and bruises that go with pro wrestling,” the former wrestler shared. “And she hung in there, I’m very, very proud of her.”

The teenager will be the fourth generation of Dwayne’s family to enter the wrestling business, following in his own footsteps plus those of his dad Rocky, and his maternal grandfather Peter Maivia.
