Dolphins woes worsen as star faces long ban

Wayne Bennett's Dolphins woes have worsened with his back-up hooker facing a long suspension.

On the same day first choice rake Jeremy Marshall-King hobbled off with an ankle injury, teammate Kurt Donoghoe was put on report for a high shot on St George Illawarra's Francis Molo.

Donoghoe has been hit with a grade two charge and can accept a three-game ban, or challenge it and risk missing four games.

The Dolphins still sit sixth on the NRL ladder but are tumbling down, having lost four of their last five games.

They have a bye this week before a tough fortnight against the Rabbitohs and Panthers.

There were no other suspensions offered from Sunday's three NRL games, although four other players have been offered fines.

The Wests Tigers have escaped with no suspensions despite three players being sin-binned during their loss to the Roosters.

Captain Api Koroisau escaped a charge altogether, while John Bateman (high tackle) and Adam Doueihi (hip drop) can pay small fines.

Cowboys rookie Jaxon Purdue can also pay a fine for tripping Penrith player Daine Laurie.
