Galvin slams 'absolute lie' amid Tigers drama

Teenage prodigy Lachlan Galvin has broken his silence on his time in the headlines after he requested a release from the Tigers.

Galvin has since pledged he'll be staying at the club after Tigers chief executive officer Shane Richardson told him and his management he won't be released.

The five-eighth has now revealed the influence Andrew Johns had on his decision after the Immortal implored him to stay loyal and build a legacy at the club.

"I'm fully committed to Wests Tigers," Galvin told The Sydney Morning Herald.

"I want to change the club around, I'm fully committed to the next two years of my contract. Just thinking about it, it's cool to think … I can be that kid to change this club around.

"You hear the likes of Andrew Johns talking, saying there is a legacy for you and how cool would it be if you change the club around.

"I thought of that and that's incredible to me, to think I could be one of the few to change this club around."

Amid his commitment to the Tigers, Galvin also put to bed a report that said he was telling teammates he was happy to be leaving.

"Absolute lie," he said.

"I would never do that to any of my teammates or Benji [Marshall] or any of the coaching staff. I would never disrespect them like that.

"I would never walk around the sheds yelling out I want to quit. It's all BS."
