'Poetic' Aussies clinch Madrid Sevens title

The Aussie women are Madrid Sevens champions, defeating France 26-7 in the final at Civitas Stadium on Monday morning (AEST).

A hat-trick to Maddison Levi earned her player of the final, which also moved her into second for all-time tries in a season, male or female, with 69.

"It's just a poetic way to start and now end the season as champions," coach Tim Walsh said.

The men beat Great Britain 21-0 in the seventh place play-off.
