The Newcastle Knights have reportedly pulled off a major re-signing with young gun centre Bradman Best agreeing to terms on a new contract.
Best, who scored eight tries from 11 NRL matches for the Knights last year, will remain in Newcastle until the end of the 2024 season according to a Fox Sports report.
Despite being restricted last season due to an ankle injury, the 19-year-old emerged as one of the bright spots for the Knights.
The 103kg centre was recently included in New South Wales coach Brad Fittler's Emerging Blues squad. Best is no stranger to Fittler, having been coached by the Roosters great when he played for NSW at Under-16s level.
The Knights' powerbrokers have been busy this month, with the club earlier this month locking in coach Adam O'Brien until the end of 2024.
O'Brien's existing contract was due to expire at the end of 2022.
The rookie head coach, who was previously an assistant at the Roosters and Storm, enjoyed a fruitful debut season in 2020, steering Newcastle to their first finals appearance since 2013.
