Port injury woes continue after star's training scare

Port Adelaide's preparations for its match against Geelong have been marred by injury concerns, with star Charlie Dixon limping from training with an ankle injury.

Despite the scare, the club says the key forward is expected to participate in Friday night's game against the Cat on Friday night.

"Charlie's always had something wrong with him," teammate Sam Powell-Pepper said.

"He'll be ready to go this week."

Meanwhile, Jase Burgoyne left training at Alberton after just a few minutes due to groin tightness, but the club is hopeful that he will also recover in time for the match.

Ruckman Jordan Sweet remains in doubt for the round nine clash though, having not trained this week due to illness.

His absence could open the door for Jeremy Finalyson to return to the team, following his impressive performance in the SANFL, where he scored four goals.

While he is out for the season, Powell-Pepper is back on his feet just eight days after undergoing knee surgery.

"I'm not the type of person to sit around and do nothing," he said.
