Schuster's Titans meeting denied as future plan revealed

Josh Schuster mooted meeting with Titans coach Des Hasler has reportedly not happened, after the free agent and his manager Mario Tartak were spotted on the Gold Coast.

Having agreed to a release from Manly, Schuster was captured on the glitter strip on Friday, sparking speculation he could be set to join his old coach.

However, 9News reporter Danny Weidler revealed on Nine's 100% Footy that after speaking with Tartak, the meeting did not occur.

Despite the denial, Schuster still has an interest in returning to the NRL in the future, with Weidler reporting the Samoan representative's desire to play five-eighth.

"He doesn't want to be a back-rower, he wants to get his fitness to a level where he can be a five-eighth again," he said.

"… Right now though, they're putting all club talks on hold and they just want to concentrate on getting his mental state right and then his football right."

"Get him fresh and fit and he'd be good in any team so I just wish him all the best."
