Brisbane's postseason hopes copped a blow with a bicep injury to captain Adam Reynolds, yet coach Kevin Walters remains confident the club has the depth to cover the loss.
Reynolds suffered a torn bicep in the 40-18 loss to the Roosters, while Arthars went to hospital with a broken jaw in a sorry night for the Broncos, with the club now set to rely on their roster to fill the breach.
Reynolds will go for scans and the club won't know the extent of the injury until then, but Walters said it was "potentially" season-ending. However, the time frame for such an injury is said to be three months after surgery.

If everything goes to plan with recovery after operating, it's said Reynolds could return after round 21.
Walters said the club has several options including back up halfback Jock Madden and Tristan Sailor mentioned as possible replacements.
Madden suffered a pectoral injury the previous week against Wests Tigers but is a chance to play Friday night's away clash with Parramatta.
However, Walters shot down any suggestion of Reece Walsh switching positions.
"We will leave Reece at fullback," he said.
"We would prefer for guys to not get injured but it gives us an opportunity to have a really good look at Jock for the next 12 or 14 weeks."
"I haven't had a chance to talk to the doctors about Jock and his return. He would be an outside chance against Parramatta.
"(Sailor) could play a role there for us, certainly. He has got a good football IQ.
"We have been defending him in the front line and he has been doing that at Queensland Cup level. We have go some options but will let the dust settle over the weekend.
"We have got good depth. I'm more concerned about how we played tonight. We need to fix that. We will get Adam back I am pretty sure before the year is out, and also Jesse Arthars."
Walters challenged the rest of the leaders in the group to fill the void in Reynolds' presence.
"I think the ownership needs to be spread across the group, with Paddy there, with Reece, with Ezra, and with Billy and Tyson, they all need to step up in that space with Reynolds not there," Walters said.
Captain Pat Carrigan agreed.
"Just keep on keeping on next man up. We've got a lot of depth in our club and I'm confident that whoever plays there will do a job for us.
"So there's a footy team here mate. We've just got to iron out a couple things."
