Kevin Walters has ruled out an approach for Roosters halfback Sam Walker, claiming the Broncos are "very comfortable" with their playmaking depth.
While it's widely expected that he will remain in the red, white and blue long-term, Walker is yet to sign a deal with the club beyond next year, which could see him become a free agent on November 1 if the Chooks don't lock him down.
The 21-year-old is one of the game's best young halves and was exceptional on Anzac Day, tearing the Dragons apart in a 60-18 victory.

Walker came through the system at Red Hill before moving down the east coast and signing with the Chooks, where he has become one of the club's most important stars.
Earlier in the week, Adam Reynolds was quizzed on whether the Broncos should make a play for Walker to replace him for the 2026 season and beyond, but the captain backed the current talent in the squad to fill the void long-term.
Ahead of the clash between the Roosters and Brisbane on Friday night, Walters was asked about the comments from his skipper and ruled out a move for Walker.
"Reyno has got it right," he said.
"We're very comfortable with our roster here and particularly in the halves. We're very well-served in that spot. I see him as a Rooster now.

"He's a terrific player. We saw that last week from him against the Dragons … we can't just focus on Walker, because others will jump out of the ground. Roosters are a good side, they've got lots of good players – not just Sam, but across the park.
"Every week is great in the NRL, but these ones are particularly good opportunities for us as Broncos and our team to see where we are in the competition."
Walker has played 62 first grade games for the Tricolours since making his debut in 2021, with his off-the-cuff style earning comparisons to Allan Langer.
The rising star has been touted as a future No.7 in the representative level for the Maroons, but will have to bide his time behind Cameron Munster and Daly Cherry-Evans for at least this year.
Jock Madden and Ezra Mam are a potential halves combination for Brisbane when Reynolds ultimately decides to hang up the boots, while the raps on teenager Coby Black coming out of the club only grew after an incredible 130-0 win in the Mal Meninga Cup last weekend.
