Schuster's exit nears as $200k payout plan revealed

The Manly Sea Eagles and promising youngster Josh Schuster could finally be set to part ways after a long process.

According to 9News and The Sydney Morning Herald reporter Michael Chammas, both parties are close to agreeing on a mutual termination agreement worth around $200,000 per season for the next three years.

Schuster is contracted to the club until the end of 2027 on a deal worth around $800,000 per year. However, that deal isn't scheduled to start until next season.

Reports suggest meetings between the NRL and RLPA have occurred to help finalise the termination, which would see Schuster included in Manly's salary cap at just $200,000 per season until the end of 2027.

This would free up $600,000 for Manly in their salary cap.

A decision is expected to be reached by the end of the week.

MORE TO COME.
