Daniil Medvedev made desperate attempts to buy himself time as the tide turned against him in his battle with Jannik Sinner in the Australian Open final.
With the ledger even at two sets apiece, Medvedev raced off the court for a change of clothes and shoes.
Before that, he let the chair umpire know of his plans to leave the court – which she took umbrage to.

"He can't possibly change again after one set? That's tactical," said Stan Sport's Wally Masur.
"It's 28 degrees down here. Yes, he's sweating slightly, but that's tactical."
Medvedev argued with the chair umpire about the matter before storming off.
"Can I change on the clock? I'm going to change on the clock," he said.
She offered a response, unheard, to which he replied, "No, no, no – I don't have time!"
Medvedev returned to the court just as the serve clock began and he was duly given a time violation warning when the timer hit zero.
