PERTH: Australia has a shot at repeating its 2018 Sydney golden double after the men and women produced superb semi-final performances at the Perth Sevens.
The dominant Aussie women outclassed the United States 24-7 before the "poor cousin" men upset Fiji 22-7 at a sold out HBF Park.
The women will start red hot favourites in their final against Ireland at 8.13pm AEDT on Sunday with the men taking on world series leaders Argentina 40 minutes later.

Maurice Longbottom was again inspirational for Australia, playing above his weight and whipping the crowd into a frenzy after the fulltime siren.
"Emotions running high, we're on home soil so there's always pressure to do well," Longbottom said.
"We're lucky enough to make it to a grand final on home soil with this amazing crowd and family."

The date with Argentina is a repeat of the final in Cape Town in December, when Australia ran out of steam in a 45-12 loss.
"There's a reason they're on top – they're playing some outstanding footy. They have been all year," Longbottom said.
"We've just got to be better, be physical, get up to fight and I've got no doubt we will… I don't want to be seen as a weak link in the field.

"I'm constantly taking on the big boys at training and it's paying off in the games."
The women will play their final without Maddison Levi after the superstar copped a four game ban for her high tackle in the quarter-final win over New Zealand.
Aussie star Bella Nasser revealed coach Tim Walsh had used a novel tactic in a bid to get their tackle height down.
"Going into our meeting this morning he had a piece of tape across the door," Nasser said.
"So we had to duck under there to get into our team meeting, ensure that we're getting our body height down…she (Levi) was super, super disappointed and upset but she's a pretty strong person in the head and as a girl.
"The team, we all got around her, kept her very tight. We know she'll be back in Vancouver, fighting strong."
