The Gold Coast Titans have a new coach in Des Hasler – but the big question is whether they will have a new on-field general as well.
Tanah Boyd has steered the ship around the park in the No.7 jumper for the last couple of seasons – with only mixed results.
Local junior Tom Weaver is a player on the rise and could well get the nod from Hasler.

After being named the NSW under 19 State of Origin half last year, Weaver made his top grade debut against Penrith and didn't look out of place.
At 20, the local junior is highly thought of on the Coast and will put the heat on Boyd in the trials.
Can Hasler spark Fifita's career-best?
If anyone can get the best out of enigmatic big man David Fifita, it's Hasler.
Fifita can play like the best back-rower in the game some games … and can go missing in others.
For the Titans to make the finals, they need Fifita fit and firing every week.
Hasler will push the barnstorming forward like he's never been pushed before in pre-season and it will be interesting to see how the goliath responds.
The big fullback question
Fullback is the other big question mark for the Titans – but the good news is they have an embarrassment of riches.
Jayden Campbell and AJ Brimson are both super players who can crack a defence open and Hasler also has a rising star in youngster Keano Kini.
Both Campbell and Brimson can also play centre and five-eighth so Hasler has plenty of options which will come in handy over a long season.
Again, he should show his hand in the trials but The Mad Professor is a master of producing the unexpected.
