New Melbourne Renegades recruit Nathan Lyon has officially been ruled out of the side's opening BBL match against the Sydney Sixers.
The 36-year-old will not take part in the match at the SCG due to his international commitments, which will kick off when Australia face Pakistan in the first Test match of the summer in Perth on December 14.
Lyon has been training with the Renegades as a Cricket Australian contracted player, meaning he will be able to continue his time with the side before flying over to Perth next week.

Renegades general manager James Rosengarten was disappointment to lose Lyon but said the club was excited to see him perform for Australia.
"We're obviously disappointed Nathan won't be out there with us on Friday night," Rosengarten said.
"But we signed Nathan with the understanding his availability would be limited in the short term due to his international commitments.
"We were able to utilise the rules around CA contracted players to bring him in the door and we're really happy he's with us."
The Renegades are looking to win their second BBL title after their first in the 2018-2019 season over home town rivals the Melbourne Stars.
The club hopes Lyon will be able to return to take part in the chase for the ultimate glory.
"We want to give ourselves the best opportunity to contend for a BBL championship and Nathan is part of those plans," Rosengarten said.
"His impact around the squad has already been profound and we're excited for what Nathan can bring to the Renegades in BBL13 and beyond."
The Renegades face the Sydney Sixers at the SCG on Friday from 7.15pm AEDT.
