Former NSW State of Origin star Matt Moylan may have played his last game in the NRL with the Sharks playmaker holding talks with an English Super League side regarding an immediate switch, reports The Sydney Morning Herald.
Moylan has a year left on his contract with Cronulla, but the 32-year-old lost his regular starting spot late in the 2023 season and has been discussing a move to Super League club Leigh.
He rejected interest from Super League grand finalists Catalans earlier this year, but discussions have seen come about with the Challenge Cup champions, who are coached by former Roosters star Adrian Lam.
Moylan did not feature in the Sharks' elimination final defeat to the Roosters this year, having lost the No.6 jumper to Braydon Trindall.
Nicho Hynes and Trindall combined in the halves as Craig Fitzgibbons men were bundled out of the premiership race at Shark Park.
Moyal has played 102 NRL games since arriving at the Sharks after the 2017 season, when he ended an 89-match career with the Panthers.
Moylan played all three games of the 2016 Origin series and represented Australia in a Test against Scotland in the same year.
