In 1976 Niki Lauda crashed, burned and almost died in a fire of 800°C at the Nurburgring returned to F1 only 6 weeks later and lost the World Championship by 1 single point this wasn’t the end, he went on to win in 1977 and 1984 making him a 3 time F1 World Champion his legacy lives on
