Brazil GP facing heat over fan invasion

Brazil Grand Prix organisers have been summoned to report to stewards after spectators entered the circuit too early during the latest F1 event.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen finished first in the race with Australia's Oscar Piastri two laps behind him in 14th.

Reports have since emerged that crowd members climbed over the fences before the agreed time that fans were allowed on the track in scenes similar to the Australian GP earlier this year.

Spectators made their way to the podium ceremony after entering the track despite it still being classed as live.

No injuries have been reported with cars having left the circuit but event organisers will have to explain how the situation was allowed to occur.

At the Australian GP in April, spectators broke security lines in chaotic scenes with the race still going.

The Melbourne event was ruled as "an unsafe environment for the spectators, drivers and race officials" by the FIA after security measured were not enforced.
