Pak Army beat Baloch FC Noushki in National Challenge Cup

Lahore: Pakistan Army defeated Baloch FC Noushki by 3-0 in the opening match of Group A in National Challenge Cup 2020 here at Punjab Stadium on Monday. 

In an exciting first contest, Army took a lead in the 26th minute with Mateen scoring the first goal for his tean. The 1-0 lead put some pressure on the opponent but they couldn’t bring an equalizer.

Just a minute before half-time, Afzaal netted the ball to make the scores 2-0. In the 47th minute, Qadeer Hussain scored another goal for the Army, taking the lead to 3-0.

In another Group A contest, HEC and Pakistan Police held a 2-2 draw. Asadullah and Abdul Kalam scored a goal each for HEC while Jamil Ahmed and Qamar were the scorers from Police.

Karachi United beat National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) by 1-0 in a Group B match at the same venue. Anees Fakir was the lone goal scorer of the match.

Meanwhile, Falcon FC also won its first match in the event after walking over Huma FC by 2-0. Sardar Wali, scoring in the second minute gave an early breakthrough to Falcon FC as they dominated the first half completely.

In the second half, both teams counter-attacked each other’s goalposts but no success until the 90th minute when Sanaullah struck for Falcon FC to seal a convincing victory.
