The NRL is set to make changes to State of Origin from next year, but it's left Queensland Rugby League scratching its head.
The Sydney Morning Herald revealed NRL bosses have told the 17 clubs the Origin camps will be shortened from next season.
Rather than players being called in nine or 10 days before kick-off for each game, the NRL will enforce they only spend seven days in camp.

While it hasn't been made official, the Herald says NRL clubs were told in a meeting recently.
"Clubs have requested the shortening of Origin camps," an NRL spokesperson told the newspaper.
"We are consulting with all stakeholders and the Commission will consider the issue at the end of the season."
When informed of the news, QRL chairman Bruce Hatcher was dumbstruck.
"I'm perplexed," he said.

"We have an agreement to run Origin and we weren't at a meeting which appears to have changed the manner in which the competition is conducted."
NRL clubs are often reluctant to release players to Origin camp unnecessarily, given it interrupts their club training schedule.
While the Blues and Maroons conduct training sessions in the week leading up to games, the camps also include community events, media opportunities and bonding sessions that wouldn't otherwise be afforded to the players.
