With their corresponding round of 16 match complete, the Matildas will face France in the quarter finals of the FIFA Women's World Cup, in a repeat of Australia's "send off" match last month.
The Matildas last met France on Bastille Day, a week before the tournament began.
In front of 50,629 at Marvel Stadium, Australia trumped Les Bleus with a 1-0 victory, with the game's only goal scored by attacking midfielder Mary Fowler in the 66th minute.

The French qualified for the quarter finals with a dominant 4-0 victory over Morocco on Tuesday. With a draw and two wins in the group stage, France topped group F with seven points.
Australia advanced to the quarter finals after goals to Caitlin Foord and Hayley Raso shot the Matildas to a 2-0 victory over Denmark on Monday night.
If the Matildas can overcome world No.5 France, they will play the winner of England and Colombia's quarter final for a place in the World Cup final on Sunday, August 20.

This would see the home side face off against Spain, Netherlands, Japan or world No. 3 Sweden for the trophy.
Australia will meet France in the quarter final on Saturday, August 12, at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium.
