It only took three minutes, but Queensland and NSW came together in aggressive fashion early in State of Origin I after a collision from Tyson Frizell on Reece Walsh.
Josh Addo-Carr then landed on Walsh in a dangerous manner before Daly Cherry-Evans and Hudson Young threw each other to the ground with Maroons second-rower Tom Gilbert also joining in.
Blues assistant coach Andrew Johns said Gilbert did what he'd expect a forward to do.

"So he should (get involved), one of the players (Hudson Young) grabbed his halfback and captain," he said on Nine's coverage.
NSW were then penalised for the dangerous contact on Walsh by Addo-Carr which Queensland great Cameron Smith referring to it as "gamesmanship".

Smith also commented the contact from Addo-Carr on Walsh after the event was exactly what's expected in State of Origin.
"Just a bit of gamesmanship by Josh Addo-Carr … he loves the Origin arena, loves the blue jersey," he said.
Queensland then went on to score first points through Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow after nine minutes.
