Australia has a new boxing world champion.
Melbourne local 32-year-old Jason Moloney dominated Vincent Astrolabio in California on Sunday to win the WBO bantamweight title.
While one judge scored the fight a 114-114 draw, the other two scored justly to award it to the Aussie for a majority decision win.

Making the victory all the more impressive was Moloney later revealed he had broken his hand "in the third or fourth round", but fought on for the title.
Filipino brawler Astrolabio attempted to use his power punching to rattle the Aussie, but Moloney's class shone through as he used his jab to win most of the rounds.
The two judges rightly scored it 115-113 and 116-112 in favour of the winner.
When the drawn card was read out, one ESPN ringside commentator noted, "they tried to rob him".

Only last week in Mexico Australian fighter Stevie Spark was robbed of victory by some dodgy scoring.
It didn't matter for Moloney, though, who brings home his first world title belt.
His twin brother, Andrew, also fights Sunday for his own world title.
