The Brisbane Broncos have confirmed that Ben Ikin has left his role as the club's head of football operations after a stint lasting almost two years.
Ikin assumed the role in mid-2021, and admitted he'd "learned a lot" in his time with the Broncos, the club where he ended his playing career in 2004. He is set to take up a role within Queensland Rugby League.
"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Broncos and certainly learned a lot," he said in a club statement.

"I leave here knowing the football program is in better shape than when I arrived.
"There are a lot of good people at the Broncos doing great work, and I know that ultimate success for the club is getting much closer."
Ikin's first season ended with the Broncos in 14th spot and the club has risen towards the top of the table as he exits, and club CEO Dave Donaghy paid tribute to the outgoing football boss.

"Ben has made a valuable contribution to our club since he arrived in mid-2021," he said.
"The football program and playing roster needed an overhaul, and Ben very diligently worked with other key staff to knock both into shape, and our results this year reflect those efforts.
"We thank Ben for his contribution and wish him all the best for the future."
While the Broncos have risen up the ladder during Ikin's tenure, it hasn't always been smooth sailing at the club.
Broncos head coach Kevin Walters was forced to hose down rumours suggesting there was a feud between he and Ikin last week.
"We're working together every day," Walters said of the relationship between he and his halves partner from the 2000 premiership side.

"The media have a role to play in our game, to create headlines. That's OK, that's all part of the bubble of rugby league.
"Ben is a great fella, he's been working with us at the Broncos. We haven't had an in-depth conversation about what's happening at the QRL, I believe he was having an interview today, so that's good for Ben.
"He will go – if he does go – with our blessing."
