Rugby Australia CEO Andy Marinos is set to announce his resignation, Wide World of Sports understands.
The South African-born chief executive is set to step down from his post in June.
The news comes less than a week after Rugby Australia reported an $8.2 million surplus.
Marinos was praised by Rugby Australia chairman Hamish McLennan for his work to get the governing body to a place of financial stability in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The revelation comes just a few months out from the Rugby World Cup in France where the Wallabies will go in fresh-faced with a new coach in Eddie Jones.
