NBA All-Stars deliver savage takedown of rival

The Golden State Warriors dispatched the Detroit Pistons to the tune of 27 points on Sunday afternoon AEDT, but the biggest beatdown of the contest didn't even occur on the court.

Following the Warriors' 118-91 win at the Chase Center, Pistons journeyman Rodney McGruder was involved in a heated exchange with Golden State's Juan Toscano-Anderson.

What followed was some unadulterated savagery from Toscano-Anderson's All-Star teammates Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, with the three-time champs spectacularly tearing shreds off McGruder after the game.

Thompson, who is still recovering from an Achilles injury, was patrolling the sidelines as a guest commentator for NBC when he realised McGruder was approaching his teammate.

"I don't know, this dude might be out the league soon, he's probably mad about that," he said when asked by NBC commentator Bob Fitzgerald what was happening.

"Who knows? He's over here trying to start something like he's a good player. It's like bro get outta here."

However, that was nothing compared to what Green delivered in his post-game press conference as he stayed true to his reputation of being one of the NBA's most fierce trash talkers.

"Apparently he was taking up for Wayne Ellington, when the f–k did Rodney McGruder become the tough guy of the team? I don't know man, everybody in the league tough these days, it's crazy," he said.

Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

"I've seen a lot of tough guys this year, I don't understand it, and don't nobody do anything. If you really wanted to do something, you could have done it (instead of) walking over there talking s–t like he's the team's tough guy. Get the hell outta here, f—-ng tough guy, Rodney McGruder.

"Also, I'm rocking with Juan T. Juan T was about to bring that Town business s–t out on him. Also, I think it was something that Juan said to Wayne Ellington in the first or second quarter, you ain't got nothing better to do than thinking about something from the first or second quarter?

"Wayne Ellington must have went over to the bench, I guess he went and told Rodney McGruder because he hadn't been in the game. Too many tough guys in the league for me, but I know ain't nobody scared of no damn Rodney McGruder, are you kidding me?"

Thompson and Green's words did not go unnoticed by Toscano-Anderson, and other NBA fans on social media.
