'Very excited': Broncos sign Olympic bobsledder

The Broncos have scored a coup by signing Olympic class bobsledder Ashleigh Werner from the Wests Tigers.

Werner is the modern day version of the hit 1993 movie 'Cool Runnings' – based on a true story of how Jamaican sprinters turned their hand to bobsled – and qualified for the Winter Olympics… in reverse!

She joined the Tigers for the 2022 NRLW season after qualifying for the past two Winter Olympics, bagging a hat trick on debut in a fairytale start to her league career.

"I'm very excited – it's a wonderful opportunity," Werner told Wide World of Sports.

"The Broncos are such a professional club and they have been very welcoming.

"But having said that, leaving the Tigers was a tough decision.

"They have been incredible and I have so much love for the club and so much appreciation for the opportunities they've provided me."
