India’s domestic legend Wasim Jaffer praises centurion Fawad Alam

Karachi: India’s domestic legend Wasim Jaffer has praised Pakistan’s Fawad Alam after he smashed his third Test century against South Africa at National Stadium, Karachi.

The 35-year-old Fawad scored 109 off 245 balls, which included nine fours and two sixes. He rescued Pakistan after they were struggling at 33/4 at the start of the second day’s play.

Wasim, who has 19410 runs in first-class cricket, took a dig at Fawad’s critics who have questioned his unusual batting stance. “You don’t need to change your stance but the detractors might soon change their stance about you!” Wasim tweeted.

The 42-year-old Wasim added that he always believed Fawad had all the ingredients to shine at the highest level. “Well batted, Always believed you have what it takes to perform at this level.”
