Blockbuster Cats recruit suffers setback

Prized Geelong recruit Jeremy Cameron has suffered a hamstring injury but is still expected to make his Cats debut in round one.

The Age have reported the former Greater Western Sydney star pulled up sore last week but that he returned to running on Saturday, as the main group enjoyed the long weekend.

Cameron had had trouble with his hamstrings in the past.

The 2019 Coleman medalist injured his hamstring in the Giants' 2017 qualifying final loss to Adelaide and missed the rest of GWS' finals campaign.

Cameron is intent on rebounding from an underwhelming 2020 season with the Giants, in which he booted a career-low 24 goals.

The towering forward, who's set to turn 28 in April, will wear Gary Ablett snr's iconic No.5 guernsey.
