Javeria’s half-century goes in vain as Blasters loses third match

Rawalpindi: Opener Javeria Khan fought hard for PCB Blasters but PCB Challengers won their first match by 5 runs in the National Triangular T20 Women’s Cricket Championship here on Saturday. 

Khan smashed 56 runs off 47 balls with the help of eight boundaries but her knock went in vain as Blasters fell six runs short of the 159-runs target. Aliya Riaz managed to score 37 runs off 31 balls laced with three boundaries and a six as Blasters finished at 152-6 in 20 overs.

Fatima Sana, Saba Nazir, and Bismah Maroof bagged a wicket each.

Earlier, Challengers scored 157-6 with Bismah scoring the highest 61 runs off 48 balls with the help of nine boundaries and a six. Kainat Hafeez made 22 runs while Fatima showed her batting skills by scoring 41 runs off 33 balls with the help of four boundaries and a six.

Hafsa Amjad bagged three wickets while Maham Tariq and Anam Amin shared a wicket apiece.
