‘Have come through proper channel in Pakistan team’ Saud Shakeel

Karachi: Uncapped left-handed batsman Saud Shakeel feels blessed to have come into the Pakistan cricket team through age-group cricket and a proper pathway.

The 25-year-old middle-order batsman has been named in Pakistan’s 20-member squad for the two-Test match series against South Africa starting from 26 January at the National Stadium.

“PCB has invested in me and I am in the Test team through a proper channel, said Saud to pcb.com.pk. “if given chance I look forward to grabbing it with both hands,” he added.

“It is an honor for me to represent Pakistan national team, but my real goal is to feature for the national team in all three formats,” he added.

Regarding his role model, Saud said that he has been watching Kumar Sangakkara since childhood.

It must be noted that Saud has scored 3220 runs in the 46-first-class matches and has registered 10 centuries, 17 fifty+ scores at an average of 48.78.
