Dally M winger Nofoaluma secures NRL future

Dally M winger of the year David Nofoaluma has recommitted to the Wests Tigers signing a four-year extension which will keep him at Concord until the end of 2025.

Nofoaluma had a dominant 2020 season for the Tigers, scoring 17 tries in 20 NRL matches and collecting the club's best and fairest Kelly-Barnes Award award.

Souths were looking to lure the star away from the Tigers after the club and Nofoaluma's agent Sam Ayoub butted heads over the length of the deal. The club wanted to sign the 27-year-old to a three-year deal until the end of 2024 but Ayoub pushed for a four-year deal, according to Fox Sports.

The off-contract winger was repeatedly linked with a move to the Eels to replace Blake Ferguson at the end of the year but he'll remain at Wests after he enjoyed his best season in the NRL under coach Michael Maguire last year.

Maguire is slowly moulding the roster to the way he likes it after inheriting Josh Reynolds, Russell Packer, Ben Matulino and Moses Mbye all signed on big-money, long-term deals when he became coach in 2018.

With Nofoaluma's future sorted now and along with a new-look forward pack which includes the likes of James Tamou, Joe Ofahengaue and Stefano Utoikamanu, the Tigers are taking on a new look.

Mix in the change in the halves that will see Adam Doueihi playing five-eighth, Joey Leilua and James Roberts in the centres, Maguire's vision is starting to take shape.
