Australia captain Tim Paine has been fined 15 percent of his match fee for his expletive-laden outburst at umpire Paul Wilson during the SCG Test.
Paine's frustrated reaction came after Wilson ruled not out when Australia appealed for a Matthew Wade catch at short leg off the bat of Cheteshwar Pujara early on day three. The decision was reviewed but despite a faint spike on Snicko, it was not overturned by third umpire Bruce Oxenford.
The outcome of the review infuriated Paine, who was given out after a review under similar circumstances earlier in the series.
"Where's the f—ing consistency, Blocker?" the Australia skipper asked.
Wilson was the third umpire who controversially ruled Paine out caught behind in the Boxing Day Test.
The wicketkeeper-batsman was deemed to have breached the International Cricket Council's code of conduct, specifically the article "showing dissent at an umpire's decision during an international match".
Paine was also handed one demerit point, but this was his first offence in a 24-month period, which ensured he avoided a suspension.
