After Misbah, Waqar’s role as bowling coach under threat: Reports

Karachi: Bowling coach Waqar Younis’s role as bowling coach is reportedly in danger after bowlers failed to execute performances in the recently concluded New Zealand tour.

The national team was thrashed by the Kiwis in T20I and Test series. They lost the T20I series by 2-1 and got whitewashed in the two-match Test series. Bowlers were unable to bowl New Zealand out in an innings during the two Tests.

According to details, numerous players have also complained and communicated their reservations regarding the attitude of Waqar.

Meanwhile, head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar will be under scrutiny in the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Cricket Committee meeting next week which will be chaired by new chairman Saleem Yousuf.

Batting coach Waqar Younis was not called as he has been appointed permanently before the New Zealand series.
