‘Not afraid of defeat, want to give players to Pakistan’ Basit Ali

Karachi: Former Test cricketer and current head coach of Sindh, Basit Ali said his prime focus is to polish youngsters and give players to Pakistan for the longer run.

Speaking to ARY Sports, the cricketer-turned-coach said people criticized him for his team defeats but nobody highlighted areas where they were up to the mark.

“I accept, we were short in some areas but people didn’t see our positives. Our players showed strong performances throughout Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, our batters had the most number of centuries (12) in the tournament. I am not afraid of defeat, I want to give players to Pakistan,” he said.

“We were short in some departments like spin bowling. See, everyone has room for improvement so do we. Wait and give us some time, I will show improvement in Sindh team,” he mentioned.

It must be noted here that Sindh finished last in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2020-21 with just a win out of 10 matches. They were at number three in National T20 Cup.
