Nida, Kainat share excitement for England’s tour of Pakistan

Karachi: National women cricketers Nida Dar and Kainat Imtiaz shared their excitement as England women’s team have confirmed their first tour to Pakistan in October this year.

In a chit-chat on PCB’s YouTube channel, both the cricketers said they are looking forward to playing against England on home soil and it will be a historic moment in Pakistan women’s cricket history.

“I am extremely excited for this series. England will come to Pakistan for the first time and it will open up more opportunities for female cricketers in the country. I have already texted a couple of English cricketers who are my friends and I am very excited to welcome them here,” all-rounder Nida said.

Kainat, on the other hand, is hoping to see crowds, especially girls in the stadium during this series. “Currently, COVID-19 is there and I am not sure whether the situation will improve at the time closer to this series. But, I really want people, especially young girls to come to watch these matches live. It will encourage them to pursue cricket as their profession,” she highlighted.

It must be noted here that PCB confirmed that England women’s team will come to Pakistan in October this year to play two T20Is and three ODIs here at National Stadium.

According to the released schedule, English women will take on the home side in two T20Is on October 14 and 15 whereas ODIs will be played on October 18, 20, and 22.
