13th Tenpin National Bowling Championship kicks off in Islamabad

Islamabad: The 13th National Tenpin Bowling Championship under the auspices of the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) has started here at Arena Bowling Club, F9 Park.

The event was inaugurated by Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Dr. Fehmida Mirza.

Senator Mirza Afridi, Director General of Pakistan Sports Board Dr. Arshad Mahmood, President PTBF Ejaz-ur-Rehman, Secretary-General Muhammad Hussain Chatha and participants were also present on the occasion.

137 male and female athletes from all over the country are participating in the championship. The championship has 6 categories including singles, doubles, team events, women’s, amateur and deaf competitions.

The quarter-finals of the championship will be played on January 8, the semi-finals on January 9 and the finals on January 10. Prize money of Rs. 1 million has been earmarked for the event. Prizes will be distributed to the winners at the end of the championship.

It should be noted that the championship was scheduled in Karachi from December 25 to 30, but after the bowling club in Karachi was closed due to the COVID-19, the championship was shifted to Islamabad.
