Asthma has derailed the start of Nick Kyrgios' Australian Open preparation, with the Aussie forced to withdraw from tonight's match.
Kyrgios made the decision about six hours before he was scheduled to play against Alex Molcan on Rod Laver Arena in the Melbourne Summer Set.
The 26-year-old Australian has been recovering from a knee injury for the past three months.

He now has just one lead-up tournament before the Australian Open begins, the Sydney Tennis Classic.
Kyrgios enters the 2022 season ranked as 93rd in the world.
"I'm really sorry that I've had to pull out from this Melbourne Summer Set event," Kyrgios said.

"I have been feeling really run down and unwell for four days.
"I have had several COVID-19 tests over the last few days, which all came back negative.
"I don't feel 100 per cent so I need to take this week to be ready for Sydney next week.
