Babar Azam highly credits parents for successful start to career

Karachi: Pakistani skipper Babar Azam shared how his parents supported him throughout his journey from nowhere to becoming the captain in all three formats of the game.

Speaking on a local news channel, Babar said he bought his first-ever new cricket kit from his mother’s savings. “I still remember, my mama gave me Rs 3000 from her savings and I bought a kit and a brand new bat worth Rs 2000. The happiness of buying first-ever kit is unexplainable,” he said.

“Meanwhile, my Papa used to be there every time with me on the ground. He used to point out my mistakes by watching me play and then guide me to mend them. Moreover, my brothers and entire family supported me in this journey and I can’t thank them for what they have done for me,” he added.

It must be noted here that Babar has become one of the leading batsmen around the world. He is among the top five batsmen in all three formats of the game.
