Stokes takes a dig at Test Team of the Decade cap

Karachi: England all-rounder Ben Stokes was one of the most impactful players in the last decade and was honored by the International Cricket Council too.

The 29-year-old Stokes was named in ICC Test and ODI teams of the decade. Stokes thanked the world’s governing body after receiving the caps but was a bit disappointed about the color of the Test Team of the Decade cap.

Stokes highlighted that the cap is a bit too similar to the ‘Baggy Green’ worn by England’s biggest rivals, Australia.

“Very proud of both these cap’s, one of them just doesn’t seem right, it’s a bit BAGGY and GREEN thanks ICC,” he wrote on Instagram, along with pictures of him sporting both the caps.

Seeing the funny side to it, ICC took to Twitter to issue an apology in jest. “Sorry Ben Stokes!” ICC tweeted with a laughing emoji.

It must be noted that Stokes in the last decade, scored 4428 runs at an average of 37.84 while picking 158 wickets as well in the last decade. In ODIs, he has amassed 2682 runs and claimed 70 wickets in 95 matches.
