Melbourne Cup runner rushed to vet hospital

Melbourne Cup runner Tralee Rose has been taken to hospital after she was reportedly galloped on during the race.

The Symon Wilde horse finished ninth in the $8 million race that was won by Verry Elleegant.

Reports from Flemington say all 22 other Cup runners are healthy after the race.

The five-year-old mare, trained by Wilde, finished ninth. She was ridden by jockey Dean Holland.

James Tzaferis of Racing.com said Tralee Rose was sent for scans at Werribee Vet Hospital.

"Tralee Rose headed to Werribee Vet Hospital for scans after she was galloped on. Symon Wilde hoping there's no damage to tendon," he tweeted.

"At this stage, all other (Melbourne) Cup runners seem to have come through the race well."
